Four things get written down here: which files a machine actually publishes, what a library costs you in weekends, the conditions behind a part's headline number, and the claims the field keeps repeating without saying the other half. Written for people who are about to build something, not for people writing an assignment.

Why this needs to exist at all
The links are everywhere already
Project indexes, awesome lists, star rankings — there is no shortage. The problem was never finding a project. It is that nobody writes down the four facts behind the link: read-only STL or editable sources, whether the licence permits commercial use, whether the total includes shipping and tax, and whether it runs once you have built it.
So this site does one thing
It checks those facts and records how far the check went: which items are confirmed and which are not. That is worth more than listing ten more projects, because the item left out is usually the one you were about to pay for.
No advertising, no sponsored write-ups, no commercial relationship with any vendor, and nothing of ours for sale. If we have got your thing wrong, tell us and we will correct the entry with a date on it. How to read an entry is explained in How to read this site.
