Printing & Materials
3D printing and materials
The default machining process for robot structural parts. Three things decide whether the part survives and assembles cleanly: material (PLA is stiff but brittle and heat-shy, PETG is tough but needs tuned layer adhesion), print orientation (layer bonds are the weakest plane, so load direction decides orientation), and hardware (M3 heat-set inserts make threaded holes survive repeated assembly). Get those three right and a few-hundred-dollar printer produces usable structure.
